Hariciye Nezareti (Tevfik Paşa) Mansion (…) is one of the important examples of civil architecture built in the last quarter of the 19th century in Ayaspaşa, Istanbul. The mansion, commissioned by the Italian Ambassador Baron Blanc, was first used as the Italian Embassy and later as the residence for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, it was burned down in 1911, along with its valuable belongings, due to a fire.
Only the outbuildings of the mansion survived the fire. In 1930, the outbuildings of the mansion, owned by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Tevfik Pasha, were converted into a hotel by Pasha’s family. In the Leyla Turgut Collection at the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum Archive of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, there are facade and interior photographs of the Hariciye Nezareti (Tevfik Pasha) Mansion.
